When you are using Varnish with Magento. Varnish act as a frontend/proxy server & Magento act as backend server. So whenever user access/request your website URL it first land on Varnish (frontend) then it pass the request to Magento (backend), then Magento process the request and again pass the request to Varnish and finally Varnish serve the request/website page to user.

Here is the request flow:

User request (website URL) --> Varnish (frontend) --> Magento (backend) --> Varnish (frontend) --> User requested page (website URL)

So in your scenario you have 2 servers as below.

Varnish Server (frontend): 129.89.188.245 on port 80
Magento 2 Server (backend): 129.89.188.244 on port 80

Hope you have generated your varnish configuration file from Magento admin panel. If not you can generate it using below steps and configure the Varnish.

 1. Log in to the Magento Admin as an administrator.
 2. Click STORES > Configuration > ADVANCED > System > Full Page Cache.
 3. From the Caching Application list, click Varnish Caching.
 4. Enter a value in the TTL for public content field.
 5. Expand Varnish Configuration and enter the following information:

Access list: Enter the fully qualified hostname, IP address for which to invalidate
    content.

Backend host: Enter the fully qualified hostname or IP address and listen port of the Varnish backend or origin server; that is, the server providing the content Varnish will accelerate. Typically, this is your web server.

Backend port: Origin server's listen port.

 6. Click Save Config.

 7. Click on "Export VCL for Varnish 4" to create a default.vcl

 8. Replace Varnish current default.vcl configuration file with the generated one and restart the Varnish service.

Once done change the Magento Base URL & Secure Base URL to Varnish IP/domain.

Now when first user access your website using URL/IP Varnish will fetch the page/content from Magento and cache it then serve it back to user. When second user request the same page/content Varnish serve it form the cache.

Hope this explanation will clear your doubts.
